Get Ready for the Premier League 2017

Tuesday August 22, 2017

August is here, and that means the Premier League has begun. The 20 elite clubs included in the League will fight it out to see which team becomes the winner for this season.

While the main goal is to become champions, no team will want to go into relegation. This is reserved for the three lowest-placed teams once the Premier League has been completed for the season, which won’t occur until next May. And since you can bet on plenty of different things, maybe you could guess which teams will be relegated this year, as well as the team that will win?

The current champions are Chelsea, who also won in the 2014-15 season, with Leicester City taking the title in between those two seasons. Chelsea has won five times so far, with their first title coming in the 2004-05 season. But Manchester United is way ahead on wins, with 13 championships going their way since 1992-93. Will they be worth a bet this year, or do you think their best years have gone? Their last title was in the 2012-13 season, so maybe it is going to be their time again soon.

Saturday 26th August is a big day in the footballing calendar, with six matches planned to take place on that date. Among them will be Manchester United against Leicester City, which could be a big match. Four more matches will take place the following day, including Chelsea against Everton, and Liverpool against Arsenal. Could you pick the winners from those matches, or will there be a few surprises?

It is very early days yet in the competition, but at the time of writing, Manchester United were in pole position, having played and won two matches. Huddersfield Town is in second place, with West Bromwich Albion in third place. No doubt those positions will change in the next few days, as plenty of matches are decided. Win, loss, or draw, we can expect the standings to change frequently as more data becomes available.

Which team will be in fine form over the next few weeks and months, and which ones will end up in the relegation positions? You can bet on getting all the latest developments here, so stay tuned.
