Visit Silverstone for the British Moto Grand Prix

Monday July 31, 2017

If you love motorcycle racing, you will no doubt be familiar with the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, which has been in action since 1949. The season covers racing events at 18 different circuits. These are found in 15 countries, with Spain hosting no fewer than four races. The UK hosts just one of the races, at Silverstone Circuit. Before this, Donington Park was the circuit chosen for the race, although Silverstone was formerly used between 1977 and 1986. The circuit has several famous bends, including Becketts, Abbey, and Copse. It provides a notable challenge for the riders taking part.

The 2017 British Grand Prix MotoGP will take place between 25th August and 27th August 2017, which covers the Friday to the Sunday of the late summer Bank Holiday weekend. It should be a popular event for many, with tickets already selling fast. With races on each day, riders will be competing for three major world titles. These are the MotoGP title, and the Moto2 and Moto3 titles.

Those visiting Silverstone will enjoy the racing, of course, but the venue will also lay on live music, a fairground, and many other attractions over the course of the weekend. This is the place to be, but if you aren’t going, you can still get in on the action by placing a bet or two on whoever you think will be the winner of these races.

Last year, Maverick Vinales from Spain won the MotoGP event, riding a Suzuki bike. The year before, Valentino Rossi won the title, and was involved in a dramatic finish last year too, as one of the riders who was in with a shot of winning for a long portion of the race. Spanish riders have had a good run in recent years in the MotoGP event. Valentino Rossi is Italian, but before he won in 2015, Marc Marquez took the title in 2014. His fellow Spanish rider, Jorge Lorenzo, won in both 2012 and 2013.

So, who will you bet on as being most likely to win the MotoGP event at Silverstone this year? Now is the time to consider the options, and get ready to place your bets for the event itself.
